How to Know Your UAN?

Through the UAN portal using Registered Number or Aadhaar Card details:

If you are not able to find your UAN (Universal Account Number) from the employer or salary slip, you can obtain it through the UAN portal. Simply follow the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the EPFO Member Portal

Step 2: Click on the tab ‘Know your UAN’. A new page will appear.

Step 3: Enter your registered mobile number and captcha for verification. Click on the button ‘Request OTP’. Enter the OTP and captcha code, then click on ‘Validate OTP’.

Step 4: You’ll be redirected to a form where you must enter your name, date of birth, PAN/Aadhaar/member ID, and captcha. After entering all details, click on ‘Show my UAN’.

Step 5: Your UAN number will be displayed on the screen.

How to Activate UAN Online?

To activate UAN, you must have your Universal Account Number or PF Member ID. Follow the steps below to activate UAN on the EPFO portal:

Step 1: Go to the UAN Portal and click on ‘Activate UAN’ under the ‘Important Links’ section.

Step 2: Select the UAN option, then enter your UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, mobile number, and captcha code. Tick the consent checkbox and click on ‘Get Authorization Pin’.

Step 3: A new screen will appear showing your details. Verify that all the information is correct.

Step 4: Tick the ‘I Agree’ checkbox, enter the OTP received on your mobile, and click on ‘Validate OTP and Activate UAN’.

Step 5: Once OTP is verified, your UAN will be activated.

Upon successful activation, you will receive a system-generated password on your registered mobile number, which you can use to log in to your EPFO account.
